Training & Education
"Recovery is a deeply personal journey, but it doesn't happen in isolation. Education and training are essential tools, not just for professionals, but for individuals and families as well. They provide the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to navigate the challenges and celebrate the triumphs of recovery." - William C. White

SMART Recovery
SMART Recovery is a science-based, self-help program that supports people in overcoming addictive behaviors, including substance use and behavioral addictions. It stands for Self-Management And Recovery Training and emphasizes empowerment through evidence-based tools and peer support.
The program is built around a 4-Point Program:
-
building motivation
-
coping with urges
-
managing thoughts and behaviors
-
and living a balanced life
SMART encourages self-reliance and does not use labels like "addict" or "alcoholic," focusing instead on self-directed change. Meetings are collaborative, confidential, and structured around learning and applying practical strategies for recovery.
